My tutorials with Gillian are not short, but they don't last long, and thats okay as i always talk about what i want to say. But this week, it was longer. The bringing of this book brought more dialogue and a new interest. I'm really pleased with this piece of writing and believe it to be an integral part of my work. We spoke about how it could definitely be bound better, and i said that i haven't had much practise on that, but Gillian said she has a book that she will show me. The book is "Indie Publishing, how to make your own book", should be in the library. Gillian agreed that it was interesting when you get confused between the writings with the use of tracing paper. She suggested that i use 'Languages with Iris'. You copy in your text and then it it chops and changes it around and gives you some new text. This would be interesting to work with as it would give some strange sentences. These could be inserted within the text as little blips and hiccups. We also discussed the use of pronouns within my work. Throughout my written text i used the pronoun "I", we spoke about changing this to he/she/they/the as it would make it more relatable and connectable to the audience. It could also throw off the suggestion that the zine is about the woman who is being filmed.
When speaking about the films, Gillian and I both agreed that the films needed to be drastically slowed down. They need to be reduced. We also spoke about mixing up some of the effects, for example having the levitate video happening with the colour to black and white happening. Another thing was that we thought that the films could be cropped. That they now no longer need to necessarily need to be so big. That actually there can be a close focus on her feet and that alone. This could be done post production again or it could be done by reshooting a projected film, however from previous experience this does not work that well.
We spoke about certain book sizes, and that the zines that i make do not necessarily need to confirm to a certain size like A4 A5 etc.
