So our tutor group was meant to meet for a little chat, but as always, not everyone turned up..so there was a little select few. We spoke about how the uni was like a sausage factory churning people out, then watched Shia Labeouf's 'Just Do It' film to, i think, help us get motivated. We then watched a comedy sketch. At some point we did talk a little about our work, ish. But it was nice to break away in informal chat and just have relaxed fun times. I feel that Gillian (my tutor) looks at us funny every time she mentions how little time we have left, as though looking to see who is going to break first. One thing spoken about was a ted talk 'fake it until you make it', it's the kinda talk about if you put on a florescent jacket you can walk into a building and take/ do whatever you want, because people think you have authority. I suppose I fake it till i make it. My work is all about faking things until i get the desired effect or reaction.
There was the suggestion of me looking at the artist Anthony McCall.
Also a suggestion of when i go into post production editing, say aftereffects, i could have a look to see if they have a toy camera effect button. (See the examples below). It seems to almost flatten the photo, by using block colours and confuse whether there is a foreground and a background. The sickly saturated colours help to deceive whether something is real or not. I think this effect is great. But i'm not to sure whether this will work in conjunction with my films. The photos people seem to edit with this tool, are far away shots. Mine is an extreme close up.
