Their collaborative work is based around the ideas of how modern technologies and media interact, take over and damage the environment. They create small model scale sculptures of environments with some sort of media device to accompany it. In some cases there will be a miniature billboard screen in a sculpture, or it might be a film being played alongside the sculpture. I am particularly interested in their decisions they make to on how to link the film to their sculptures. In one of their pieces, they set the sculpture up with lighting rigs which moved and wind machines. From this they set up a live feed camera which they projected onto one of the walls in that same exhibition room. The audience was able to see that this seemingly true film was being taken from a model, which they could also see. This must have presented quite questionable ideas. I have not thought about the possibilities of doing a live feed, and i like the notion that i can edit my films if needs be. However, seeing this has made me more keen to try placements of objects with the films i am gaining. I also need to try out setting up my models how these people do. Take time to set up lighting and proper wind devices. The problems here which i may encounter though, are due to the fact that i work/ film my sculptures in the gardens, there are no plug sockets. I could perhaps try filming on a window ledge? this would allow me to be 'outside' yet still has all the necessary plug sockets!
