Lindsay works through different mediums to gain her final piece, often working with historical events and her own personal stories. This is probably why i am referring to her as Lindsay, after listening to her talk for about half an hour, i feel like i know her as a friend now. She speaks through most of her work, and it is in a soft endearing tone, one that is comfortable and familiar. She brings about very personal stories and gentle says them in matter of fact ways, she makes her point but in a easy gentle way. i would like my writings to be more like this. I struggle thinking i've got to produce something 'artsey' but what would happen if i just stripped it bare like Lindsay does, and just state my points? I am also interested in the way that she presents her work. She has these two films running side by side which are circular, to represent her eyes. They are showing different things and then they synch up, or one is running about 3 seconds behind the other. I have been thinking about having two films being played, but would this be too over powering? It works wonderfully in Lindsays' work (i'll attach a link) but i am unsure if it will fir in well with the stillness of my work.
