Yeah why not! There is nothing i like more than thinking and planning out my next sculpture. I find that i easily becoming disinterested in my sculptures and want to move them forward, and often the only way i see fit to do so is to create a new one. This brings me round to my next idea. Alleyways are somewhere where you never go at night, and even during the day one may stay clear of them or only go if someone is with you. There are two alleyways that i can think of back home, which i often never go through. One, you can see straight through, but it has pushed in doorways, where at times tramps can be found huddled up in. Then there is the smell in this alleyway, urine. Because of its inhabitants and being a place where rubbish is often tossed aside, it stinks. Even now whilst writing this i can almost smell it. The second alleyway is a narrow one. You are unable to see the end in it, as it bends. When i walk through that one there is always the irrational panic of what if i meet someone down here (as you are unable to see) or what if it never ends, and that i am stuck in this alleyway forever.
There is no need for this thought, but i am not the only person who thinks these things about alleyways. I have spoken to other people and they have all said that there is just 'something' about that place, that they would, if they could, avoid. They said that this fear of it began when they were young, and so it was just something they had grown up knowing, and just accepted.
In the news there constantly seems to be people being hurt/ injured/ assaulted or even killed in alleyways. I hope my next sculpture of this place, with the aid of sound, can evoke distrust and uneasiness.
