I have been trying to tie up some loose ends of films i had ideas for and others that i wanted to achieve. I reshot some films of Her and have been using previously shot film of the garden. However, some of the footage of the garden is not good enough/ in high enough definition, so i have decided to re film this on thursday, and again, i need to go out and find moss!! Constant bane of my life. However, here are some of the films i produced, but also, some that didn't go well.
here i was trying to play with a shadow. I actually filmed someones shadow, but when this came to post production, and trying to Ultra-Key this away, it didn't work well. I enjoy this strange dark patch in this work, but it doesn't look representational of a shadow. I want to try this again, but instead of using an actual shadow, I will just use a body and blacken them out and change the opacity, and hopefully then it will be an effective shadow. |
So yes, this looks pretty crap, but i was just trying out a different background and wasn't too bothered on making sure the green screened image came across alright. However, with that said, i'm not too sure that i like this background. There is too much going on, things that divert your eyes, too much to take in and concentrate. With the simpler backgrounds, you are fixed upon looking at just the one thing, presented with a face off of sorts. However, here, we are stuck to with what to watch, look at. |
here again i am trying out another background and a different position for the legs to be in. I feel that now they are in the standing position it is too obvious that they are not actually touching the ground. She looks asthough she is levitating - not what i want! ..Anyway, i felt as though i could work with this background a little, it is simple enough to not spend too much time focusing on it. |
With this one i was playing with the idea of having the three different foot movements, with the black screen in between - similar to the modern film 'Sleeping Beauty' that i looked at. However, when i went into editing this film, and using some previously used footage, i found that it was all blurry. This is the scene/ proximity that i like, but the moss footage is now no good to me. I am going to reshoot my garden scene at this level with a macro lens to ensure that it is all at a high definition.
Again with this one i was wanting to try a different background and a different stance. I'm not too keen on the background and i'm also not too keen on her standing up. It doesn't look right again. However, the colour and pigmentation of her skin here is something that i am definitely interested in. Normally i have her very white, and one tone - she certainly looks dead. However, here the pink flushing and raw tones to her skin make her look more alive, but give her skin this sensitive sore sense, rather than pure and silky. I might try using these tones to one of her lying down.
Finally, these too are virtually the same. The one on the left the colours have been dulled down and flattened. And on the right, this one has got highly saturated colours, sickly. Again, these two have three different movements, split up by a few seconds of pure black. These ones excite me the most out of what i have been producing. The one on the left looks more realistic, but it is somewhat too plain and simple. The one on the right is more questionable. The colours make it seem unreal, but then there are the questions over how can it be unreal. Also, there is more revulsion against that one. I am still undecided what colour palette i want to run with yet. Also, the three movements. I believe this works well. If you can be bothered to sit with the piece for long enough, you might see the change in the toe positions, however, you may not. I found that i, in my head, was changing the position of the toes and making them move, even though if you wait long enough they will do it. It is again that questioning of whether you changed it in your mind or if it actually happened. <- run with this more.
