I haven't watched this film, but i have been watching this clip a few times, it's quite unsettling, but so captivating and immersive. watch it from the beginning all the way through to 4:20. Basically the run down of thus film is that men can come and sleep next to women who have been drugged to be unconscious and they can touch them. Here is a real life sleeping beauty. However, the bit that i am most interested with is the ending. This man seen here is dead, and she wakes up and screams. Then the screen goes black an then back to the two of them asleep(?) in bed. However, this time, neither of them are moving, are they both dead or asleep? For you have limited control over this drug that she has taken, so could she have been overdosed? But again, the screen goes black, and then after 10 seconds or so, it goes back to the two of them in bed, but she moves slightly, confirming that she is alive and not dead. I really enjoyed the suspension held here by this and thought that i could transfer this over to my work. I want to try placing in these long black pauses and see what effect this holds. I don't want my body to move though how they do it. Instead i may have it that when he screen went black, he feet moved ever so slightly, but again what is filmed is a still piece.
