"The idea of seeing your life in the present is already documented". Nathan Jurgenson, comments on the whole idea of why people are now drawn to adding a vintage look to our photographs. Instagram pictures are now often made to look old, and there seems to be a revival of people using old black and white cameras. He raises the questions to how by now offering nostalgia to photos that normally wouldn't have this memory feeling to them, they become more precious to us. I believe that this may be why i want my work to look old, it will make the work more sentimental and comfortable. It will be something that you hopefully recognise, thats familiar to you. Perhaps when looking through old photographs you have come across this before. This is why i think i put this older effect onto my work. It enables me to transcend it past a time frame and into something infinite and universal. All can connect to it.
