My first tutorial of my second year was with Jonty. I feel that it went really well, and that my current thoughts and ideas were definitely going in the right way. We spoke about how there were a lot of current people being taken and killed. This makes my work very current and I feel has a strong places in today’s affairs.
We spoke about the bags that I would be using. Jonty was worried that they may look too much like sandwich bags, which I understand, but I do not feel like they look like that. He also made me realise that the bags that I do use would dictate a big part of this story. He suggested using crime/ forensic bags. I have managed to get some actual police bags that are used and some of the tags. This will add even more to things looking like a crime investigation.
However, this has confused me a little. I am not sure if these items are to be things which have ben found:
1) In the killers own house that they have collected about the person they murdered
2) Evidence found in the deceased persons home which may act as a clue to their death.
3) Or if it will properly be a little list of their Last things that day?!?
I believe that this is such an interesting and engaging topic for me to look into as I enjoy control. Here I am able to control every aspect of it. I am the murderer, the victim and the police system. I am the puppet master! I am orchestrating the whole thing through my imagination. Someone who I have previously looked at who does this similar thing is Dexter Dalwood. He paints interiors/ exteriors/ objects that belong to celebrities. He has never seen these things, but invents in his mind what he perceives them to be – which is what I will be doing.
We also spoke about the final sculpture, which I intend to make. We were thinking about the final piece not just being a photograph. I could look into filming the final scene. Or what if I was to make an installation, you could look at the evidence and then look round the crime scene, you are now in it.
