So this was first tutorial since having my mark back, i got a hight 2.1 which i am super stocked about. We were discussing what i am thinking of doing for my final exhibition, I hope it isn't my 'final' one though. Anyway, i was saying how i would love to have my piece as a big film screening. I will paint the wall that correct colour of grey in order to have the correct and best colours coming from my work. I want to play my still film as large as i can. I will hopefully have a bench to go with it for people to sit on.
We were saying how it's okay if people want to sit with the work for a long time, and it is equally ok if people just want to glance at it as they walk past. The piece is something that exists. It is a constant. It is always there for however long you want to look at it. If not at all, it can just blend into your background vision. A passing moment, which is what the film is. We also spoke about looking into phantasmagoria and how when speaking about my work, i don't need to talk about the actual thing, but perhaps the performance of phantasmagoria.
Next we spoke about the type of film i wish to make for my final show. I am currently rather interested in shadows and what they add to the work. I was wondering if i could have a shadow from the body. One where it is in the wrong position, or it doesn't touch the body - showing that it is visibly detached. This is an exciting route that i am looking to start filming next week! woo
